A great shot stopper, Lee has been a long standing servant to the club. Throws himself around the goal with cat like reflexes.

Former Troggs Manager Tony is a horrid little man. He can do a job a the back or in midfield, (if the job you want done is kicking the ball out and fouling people!). Tireless and loves throwing himself into a tackle.

Logga is a hard tackling no nonsense left back. Getting better each season going forward and is often deployed left mid. A knee Injury he picked up playing for the reserves means that Log won't be featuring that much this season and will be majorly missed.

Lee was brought to the club by Tony Carty in Aug 06. The Big Tackling center back plays with passion and aggression. Known to lose his head on the pitch and off it on occasion but when he doesn't he is a force to be reckoned with. Must have big pockets having seen a host of strikers in them.

Utility man Bruce used to spend most of his time in the Center of the Park but has dropped back in recent seasons, employed as a full back or Sweeper. Reads the game well and breaks up the play. If Hank comes out, can be a Horrid little man.

Quick and tricky stuey is arguably best employed as a winger. Has been asked to play up top, wing back and spent most of last season in the center of the park. This season Arch has been employing stuey as a sweeper so it appears doesn't seem to know where he is best employed but he does a job where ever he plays. Good on the ball and commited in the tackle he can bring passing ability to the defence helping smarden build their play from the back.

Brought to the club by Paul Newman in pre season 05, Dyke can do a job all over the pitch (even up top, honest) and was often deployed at center back last year. Used to score wonder goals, now just gets injured allot. Has been integral in the clubs scouting network. Dyke Snr endured a disappointing season being plagued by 3 injuries, groin strain and the resulting fatness, and is yet to return to playing after breaking his arm at the end of last season playing for Smarden.

Has turned himself into a holding midfielder sitting deep, dictating the play and throwing his weight into some big tackles. Often integral to most Smarden attacks Chunk has begun relishing the quarter back role that is perhaps forced on him by lack of fitness. Wants to improve his fitness and when he does he will be the engine room that smarden needs.

Towering striker Matt Dyke broke onto the scene aged just 17. Often referred to as the better Dyke brother, there is more to come from Matt in the future as he hunts to rediscover his early season form.

Law was eventually brought to the club at the start of the 07 season for a club record 3 pint fee after a long being courted by head scout George Dyke. The Law man repaid the transfer fee in kind with an impressive haul of over 50 goals in his first 2 seasons at the club he calls his spiritual home. The performances and goals didn't go unoticed though and Law eventually succumb to the draws of big spending Lydd moving to the county league two side this summer. Under FA rules Law signed for both clubs and will play whenever he can and the Smarden faithfull hope he will come back for good.

Mooner used to be widely accepted as the best Smarden player in any squad but has become a bit hit and miss in recent seasons. He tends to miss easy chances but still hit the odd wonder goal. Age, retirement threats and a turbulent private life has Smarden and Troggs fans fearing they may have sadly already seen all mooney has to offer but the talismanic playmaker can still light up cornes meadow and should still be considered a key player.

Smardens best cricketer. Stockers right hand man has great pace, not a bad cross and fancies himself as a dead ball specialist. Gibbo has enjoyed spells up top and right midfield but is now mostly deployed as RWB or a (very) attacking full back.

Loppy is a towering center back who is often unbeatable in the air. Likes a cruyf on the edge of his own box. Despite age and injury concerns Loppy is one of the best center backs at the club and needs to feature this season more than perhaps he would like to.

Eelsy is busy and energetic and can constantly be heard winding up the opposition. Can do a job in the center of the park and also at wing back, he possesses good pace and ball control and will never give up.

Potter has been tempted away from Bethersden this season and despite going off to Brunel Uni, he will hopefully be popping back regularly to feature for Smarden. Sunday reserve team player of the year last season, Potts is a hot prospect for the future; is good on the ball, likes to drive forward and also knows how to pick a pass and find the net.

Stocks is Sunday first team manage and as a player is a no nonsence towering center back. Great in the air, can play the ball out of defence, throws himself into tackles and is a real presence at the back; striking fear into even the hardest strikers hearts. Has the odd red mist moment but has reigned in his temper in recent seasons to become a gentle giant who never gets banned...

Bushall was signed this season from rivals Bethersden. Has only made a couple of pre season appearances off the Bench but looks a good prospect. Tricky and pacey the tireless forward likes to close down defenders off the ball and run at them with it. Finishes well, definetly more to come from the young striker.

Local boy Freddie has been unearthered by Arch this season. Has impressed for the goons and on his debut against Shepway. Good shot stopper, rushes off his line at any opportunity and is very vocal! Definetly one for the future.

Reserve team player of the season, Charlie has looked impressive on his rare first team outings this term. A hot prospect for the future, he is good on the ball, likes to drive forward and also knows how to pick a pass and find the net.

Dogman has enjoyed a good season with the reserves and if he can capture his 5 a side form on the 11 a side stage, there is more to come from this player. Has done at job at wing back for the first team on occasion; his energy, drive, haircut and randomness entertaining the fans. Can't do throw in's.

Andy is (/was) a powerful striker whose strength, pace and ability had defenders quaking and nets rippling. Had to give up due to work commitments and the team has missed his goals and presence. Struggled to recapture previous form in his handful of appearances this season, but hopefully getting fitter next year with the reserves and he can rediscover first team glories. Can only play every other weekend due to work commitments but the Den will hope to see more of him.

Ryan is one of the best crosses of the ball in the squad. If he can bring a bit more confidence and agression to add to his pace and quick feet then he will feature a lot more in the first team next season.

Roffey has all the attributes a striker needs; Pace, Strength and Power and if could just add a bit more composure and consistency to these he would surely light up the league. Still young and set to become a major player for the Troggs. Under league rules Roff is registered for Hamstreet and plays as a keeper but many will hope that he plays more for his local club.
